The Hyatt Regency Rochester has been recently renovated giving it a fresh feeling. It’s set alongside the Genesee River which flows through the city and is the tallest hotel in upstate New York. For business travelers it’s connected to the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and for leisure guests it’s a great home base to explore The Finger Lakes.
We were upgraded to the huge Flower City Suite that offers 1,900 sq ft of space including a large living room and dining room, kitchenette, king bedroom and one and half bathrooms.
The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The entire vibe was spacious and inviting, as was the mater bath. It had a massive walk-in shower with two shower heads.
The kitchenette and dining room would definitely come in handy for families on vacation or for long stay or convention guests.
The hotel has a restaurant and bar called Corso which was busy but friendly and constantly tuned out good food, as well as a deck on the fourth floor which wasn’t opened during our stay.
Rochester has a few interesting restaurants and bars and a lot of galleries and museums as a result of its more prosperous days when Kodak was a global titan. But this is a great location to explore the wineries and recreational aspects of The Finger Lakes which is a lovely area with lots to see and do.
