The Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid is a new hotel on the Spanish capital’s most famous and important street. To say it’s centrally located near shopping, restaurants and bars is an understatement. It’s a perfect location for business or leisure travelers to Madrid.
The Centric Gran Via is smallish with just 159 guest rooms which includes 6 Junior Suites, 6 Executive Suites, 2 Terrace Suites, 1 Fenix Suite and 1 Gran Via Suite. Ours was a Terrace suite on the 8th floor. The ninth floor has some accommodation and the 10th features El Jardín de Diana, a gorgeous Rooftop bar.
The Suite
The suite was large and decorated in a minimalist style. It was very clean and very well laid out with a sitting area, work area and large bathroom with a rain shower and deep tub.
The Terrace
But of course the real selling point was the huge wrap around terrace with gorgeous views over the Gran Via. From all directions the suite at the Centric Gran Via showcased the city’s architecture and glorious past.
From early morning to late at night the street below buzzed and was noisy. Fortunately the suite’s windows and black out curtains did the trick and it was very quiet inside. The Gran Via is currently in the midst of a major renovation and so construction, traffic and deliveries to the shops on the road went on 24 hours a day. It made people watching from the terrace very interesting, but never impacted the tranquility of the suite.
The Hyatt Centric Gran Via is an excellent property with professional and friendly staff, good F&B and generously appointed rooms and suites. It’s also perfectly located in the heart of Madrid. As a new property its a very welcomed addition to the capital’s hotel scene.
