The results are in and once again Asian airports dominate the list of the world’s best airports. It seems despite the ever increasing traffic, despite challenges with weather and infrastructure costs, Asian cities tend to surpass their North American and European counterparts.
The recent Skytrax Awards ceremony in London crowned the world’s best airports based upon millions of votes from the traveling public. There are many categories for the voting but like the Academy Award’s Best Picture, the Top Airport is a very coveted honour.
For the seventh consecutive year Singapore’s Changi Airport topped the list. And that’s no surprise. It’s a marvel of efficiency and thoughtful design. It is comfortable, luxurious and defies the current idea that airports are starting and ending points for journeys. Changi believes the airport should be a destination whether you’re arriving, departing or connecting.
