The Language of Travel

As we travel the globe we encounter all sorts of languages, different dialects and unusual slang. To the monolingual (yes our fellow Americans we are looking at you) this can be intimidating but it doesn’t have to be that difficult. Usually there’s someone nearby who speaks at least a little English and we can always turn to our favorite apps to help translate.

We like this Infographic because it breaks dwn how languages are changing and evolving. Our advice, take your time, don’t get stressed but slowly and patiently learn another language. If English is your mother tongue and you can become conversant in Spanish or Chinese, you will be able to find a common language with most of the people of the world. And that’s a really good thing.
