One of our Fav Airlines is Growing Again

Our Editors love Hainan Airlines’ in-flight and on the ground service. We think they offer a great, authentic and luxurious experience that combines a leading edge hard product with and exceptional soft product, so we’re excited to hear about their plans to increase connectivity between China and the US.

Hainan Airlines which is China’s only Skytrax 5-Star airline is growing their North American presence with a large scale expansion this June with the addition of 3 more nonstop routes. Connecting China to the United States and Canada has proven quite successful for the carrier which already serves Toronto, Boston, Chicago and Seattle from their Beijing base. The new routes will give Hainan Airlines unmatched connectivity between the mainland and the United States.

Hainan Airlines has a very busy June planned. The new routes will be inaugurated from Silicon Valley’s Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport to Beijing on June 15, from Boston’s Logan Airport to Shanghai’s Pudong Airport on June 20, and then from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Shanghai Pudong on June 22.

“Since we began our Seattle route in June 2008, hundreds of thousands of people have experienced the award-winning service Hainan Airlines provides between the United States and China,” said Mr. Ji Chun Liu, Director of Hainan’s International Department. “Now we are excited to open three new nonstop routes from North America to China. The community of interest and expanding trade between the United States and China has grown this market exponentially, enhanced by the new reciprocal ten year visas between the two countries.”

On board Business class passengers have luxurious seats that convert into fully flat beds with a turn-down service complete with fine cotton sheets and a duvet, pajamas and slippers.
