La Residence is a luxury hotel on a 30 acre estate in the Winelands near Franschhoek, South Africa. Surrounded by vineyards with a spectacular mountain view, it is a picturesque and tranquil property which excels at delivering impeccable service, gourmet food and exquisite wines. And did we mention the incredible design and decor?
The property has 6 luxury suites and 5 superior suites. Each are lovingly decorated and individually appointed. The Tang Suite is a large and sumptuous 85 square meters with a Chinese motif.
The large king bed dominates the main room, while the stunning bathtub sets a tone of calm and relaxation in the oversized bathroom.
The property also has 5 vineyard suites which are perfect for families as children under 12 are not accommodated on the main property. They also make the perfect getaway for couples.
Our villa was large, bright and airy, tranquil and beautifully decorated with art and bold fabrics.
The great room was perfect for entertaining with an oversized sofa, small dinning table and plenty of open areas.
The suite had two master bedrooms with king beds making it perfect for two couples traveling together. It could also be configured with one room having smaller beds for children.
Each of the two masters also had their own large bathroom with a tub and walk in shower.
And like the rest of the villa, each room was decorated in bold, bright colors.
The art throughout the villa adds to the whimsical nature of the property. This is a hotel which seamlessly blends European luxury with African hospitality. Like the Owner and Designer Liz Biden’s interior decor, it just works.
La Residence is part of The Royal Portfolio and exemplifies their philosophy of refined service, excellent F&B and attention to detail. Not only were the suites exquisite but the property and it’s view are extraordinary.
We heartily recommend the property. La Residence is simply the BEST was to experience South Africa’s gorgeous Winelands. You can also check out our review of their sister property The Silo in Cape Town.
