Perched on the edge of Oak Creek crested by the red rocks of Sedona sits Kimpton’s Amara Resort and Spa. Set back from the main street and a more than a million miles away from a care in the world, it felt quite different to any other kind of place I have been.
From the moment I arrived the outdoor setting was calling my name. I was mesmerized. We meandered out to the patio, blending in with others guests as they enjoyed happy hour and watched the sun work its artistic magic on the canvas of the huge red rock that flawlessly framed the hotel.
Thank goodness the newest ‘it’ spot for dinner was right there. After a few body tingling champagnes, dinner was served at SaltRock Southwest Kitchen.
We sat serenaded with live music of an acoustic guitar as the sun set and the darkness was illuminated by strings of party lights creating a whimsical ambiance.
It had been a while since I had seen stars in the sky.
Amara was the perfect remedy for the hours spent driving around Arizona.
After squealing from excitement over my room, I went outside to squeal about the pool.
The negative edge pool is the main feature, offering grandeur views of the red rock that overlooks the property.
It is almost criminal that there is so much to do in Sedona because the pool cabanas alone deserve a full day of attention.
I unfortunately only got to spend two days at the wonderful Amara Resort and Spa.
I left feeling almost too relaxed to continue driving on my road trip, but one thing I know for sure is that I wouldn’t hesitate to make a pit stop again soon.
Rooms start from $225/night
