Interesting news emerged this week when the China National Tourist Office (CNTO) confirmed that Hainan Airlines was getting closer to receiving approval to open a new route to Las Vegas. The Civil Aviation Administration of China recently approved Hainan Airlines’ request for three round trip flights per week between Beijing and Las Vegas beginning in September. Final approval of the route is required by the U.S. Department of Transportation. When approved, the route would be the first nonstop flight to Las Vegas from China.
As regulars in our community most will now that we’re fans of Hainan Airlines and are impressed wit their commitment to North America. Adding a three-time per week round trip flight to Las Vegas would be another coup for the airline and something we’d be anxious to see.
According to the CNTO the airline has proposed to fly the route with a 213-seat Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Their Dreamliner offers lie-flat beds in business and a great level on on board service. The culinary experience is among the best in the air which is why they are a Skytrax 5-star airline.
Stay tuned we’ll keep you updated on developments as they happen.
