The Palais Faraj Suites and Spa is located in Fez, the cultural heart of Morocco. On the edge of the Medina’s walls, the Palais Faraj is an authentic luxury retreat in a lovingly restored former Arab-Moorish palace. It’s the perfect place to explore the souk and watch the time-honored tradition of merchants and traders selling everything from live chickens to handmade arts and crafts.
The Palais Faraj is unquestionably the nicest property in Fez and has done a great job of delivering authentic Moroccan hospitality with modern amenities.
The suites are unique and individual; some have balconies, others very generous sitting rooms, while all have luxury bathrooms and great touches throughout.
The design and attention to detail befits the splendour of the property.
Moroccan craftsmen painstakingly restored the hotel and lovingly maintain it.
The handiwork and craftsmanship is apparent, as is management’s fastidious attention to every element which is needed to make a stay memorable.
The property features two restaurants and two bars. The food from Chef Rabie Kholtei was extraordinary and truly world class.
Likewise we really enjoyed the bar team and their fun Moroccan twist on classic cocktails. They also have a good wine list of Moroccan wines which was nice to sample.
The hotel also goes to great length in the public areas and organizes events such as traditional Moroccan storyteller nights and live music.
Arranged around a central courtyard, the Palais Faraj is really authentic and still throughly modern.
The Palais Faraj is large enough to offer a great level of service and yet intimate enough to make you feel as if you’re in your own private villa.
We really liked our suite and quite enjoyed the meals, drinks and service at the Palais Faraj. The property is exceedingly well thought out and loved by management, the staff and owners. Consequently guests feel instantly at home. All this combines to provide a tranquil setting at the gates of a magical Medina and a hotel which helps redefine what luxury really is.
