Guanghzhou is an interesting city. It’s not as well known as some other large Chinese cities but it is wealthy, dynamic and is an important hub in China’s ambitious Greater Bay Area plan which will link 11 cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. It is also the birthplace of Cantonese cuisine so the food here is exemplary.
The Suite Life
On this trip it was nice to receive a Globalist upgrade to a suite. The suite featured a large living room and dinning room/work area along with two bathrooms and a bedroom.

The Grand Hyatt Guangzhou is located in the lush new CBD of Pearl River New Town it is perfectly situated. It features 368 guestrooms and suites and five restaurants and bars. And of course the views are spectacular.
What really makes this property shine is the excellent Grand Club Lounge with a proper breakfast, day long snacks and a good assortment of hot and cold food, along with alcoholic beverages at night. Plus the staff were excellent.

Quiet and comfortable bedroom
You get the sense staying at the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou that this is a property which understands the importance of their location. They incorporate Cantonese traditions into their dining options while clearly embracing the area’s future as a high tech economic powerhouse. In the end the management, staff and superb hard product make this an excellent hotel and a great choice in a very friendly city.
