Located on the 3rd Ring Road just south of the Nexus SOHO building, Galleria is on the B1 level of Jjiaming Center next to the Starbucks. A space that looks more like an art gallery than a restaurant, you’ll be amazed to discover that at Galleria, food and art is interchangeable and imagination here comes in all shapes and sizes (that’s as delicious as it gets). Not your average “restaurant”, Galleria showcases some of their impressive food/art commissions among the tables and chairs including the Italian embassy’s commission to create San Marco’s Lion out of sugar, a sculpture of Picasso out of chocolate, and David’s Head in a mint and limoncello flavored jelly.
But more than an impressive space, Galleria is also a Mediterranean restaurant that makes excellent dishes that are presented as masterpieces.
If you’re a fellow foodie and keen to come and spend your Sunday evening with others who are equally excited about a creative new bridge between food and art, then you can sign up for the upcoming BJ FOoDiEs charity dinner event this coming Sunday, November 20th. From 7:30-9:30PM, this entourage of die-hard foodies are always up for new dining adventures and keen to support community events around town.
With limited seating, I’d recommend booking your seats online as all seating is now only confirmed by WeChat Transfer (add ID: LumDimSum). As last month’s charity dinner sold out quickly, make sure you lock in your spot and secure your seat ASAP!

November Charity Theme: Crossroads Centre
A Chinese NGO based in Beijing, Crossroads Centre aims to raise awareness on issues related to marginalized and discriminated people, they do great work to improve women’s rights using both culture and art to spread knowledge, share experiences and make meaningful connections with people across China and from all around the world.Partnering with the support of UN Women, various embassies and international film festivals, their projects include an annual feminist exhibition for EVAW day (Elimination of Violence Against Women), the China Women’s Film Festival (, the Hong Kong Human Rights Film Festival, etc.
For those who are not familiar with the FOoDiEs concept, they organize monthly charity dinners at different restaurants each month at an amazing price between RMB 100-150 per person (for a meal worth 2-3x its value) so that guests will feel extra generous to the sponsored organization that month.
The RMB 130 for this month’s dinner will be paid directly to the hosting restaurant and guests will be introduced to a representative of the sponsored organization and envelopes will be passed out during the main course so that after the organization representative has introduced their cause, guests can anonymously donate as they wish! Our hope is that the more satisfied with the generous meal, the more generous you’ll be with your wallet!
Donations are accepted in both cash form and WeChat transfers (I always bring extra cash for your transfer donations).
