Thailand is one of the world’s favorite travel destinations and the last few days have been historical days of celebration for the Kingdom as they ushered in a new era and a new King. Thailand’s new King, following tradition addressed a crowd of supporters dressed in yellow from a balcony at the Royal Palace.
“I and the queen are pleased and delighted to see the people having goodwill, and being here all together to show good wishes for my coronation,” he said as supporters cheered. “Your unity in showing your goodwill is a good sign for everyone to do good things for the prosperity of the nation.”
Officially known as King Maha Vajiralongkorn his coronation comes nearly three years after the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 2016. Thailand’s new King will now lead a nation which is excited about the future.
