Hotel Check In: Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort

Sometimes staying at the fanciest hotel doesn’t always work out with the family. Don’t get me wrong, I love glitzy hotels but when have a couple of kids running around it just doesn’t feel right. You are on edge because you don’t want to disturb the other guests and frankly the other guests are on edge because they don’t want to be disturbed by a couple of kids. So the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is a great alternative. It has everything you need in the hub of Fort Lauderdale Beach with close access to everything.

Fly into Fort Lauderdale Airport which is a dream compared to its competitor at Miami International as it is smaller, less crowded and really easy to get around. Getting to the city from the airport is also a breeze. The hotel is next to the W, the Ritz Carlton and the Westin. It has a motor lobby, fabulous outdoor pool with a view over the ocean on the 4th floor and is really comfortable for a more modestly priced stay.

While this is a pretty ordinary hotel it has a really friendly atmosphere. What impressed me the most about this hotel was the housekeeping; they get the kids and they are very accommodating. The hotel took very good care of us. If you go and are lucky enough to have Josee take care of your room, then you are in good hands indeed. Likewise the Director of Operations Tomas made sure everything was running smoothly on the busiest weekend of the year, as we were there for New Year’s Eve.

The beautiful thing about staying at this location is that you do not need to rent a car. A taxi from the airport to the hotel is about $40 each way and once you’re at the property pretty much anyplace you will want to go with the kids in tow is within walking distance. There’s a good choice of restaurants with the other nearby hotels and then there’s the star attraction, the beach.

It’s the perfect holiday on a good budget. The kids will love the pool and the friendly atmosphere helps ensure that the vacation will be a fun and relaxing family getaway.
