Additionally, there are also different materials that the seating can be made of. They include bonded leather, fabrics, leather gel, top grain leather etc.

Furthermore, the seating come with different accessories that contribute to the level of comfort and the type of experience that the occupant would have.

Natural/Real Leather

When you search for the best materials that are used for chairs in home theatres, this is usually the most common.  Real leather is the most popular choice because it is warm and one can sit in it for long. More so, it looks great in any space and adds a touch of class to the room.

It is important to note that there are different types of this material that is used to make furniture. Each of them has its pros and cons.  Let us explore them briefly:

Full Grain

This is considered the highest quality of leather and it is gotten from the top layer of the animal hide. The grain on this part of the hide is tight and moisture resistant. This therefore makes it strong and durable.

Additionally, this type of material wears well with age and develops a patina the more it is handled. It is quite expensive and not found in generic furniture shops. They are usually exclusive /custom items.

Top Grain

This is the runner up to full grain. In this case, the top layer of the animal hide is used but it is sanded.  The sanding process removes the flaws and gives it a smooth finish. This variant is suppler than the full grain.

When you hear of high end home theatre seats, they most probably are referring to top grain leather seats.

Split Grain

This is also known as corrected grain and is produced from left over skin layers after the removal of the top layers. This material is tougher than the aforementioned and is not very popular in the production of home movie center seats.

Bonded Leather

This is made from the leftovers of leather and fiber. It is then mixed with adhesive materials and squeezed onto a fibre sheet. There are many qualities of this material but if you get top quality one it looks beautiful and can last for a long time.

There’s also what is called matched furniture. This is when the authentic material is used to make some areas of the seat (the arm rests and the seating areas) and then bonded leather or vinyl on the back and the sides.

This is actually produces a cheaper theatre seating than when only the authentic hide material is used.

Choosing The Right Material

Now that you have seen the different types of hide material, we believe that you can make an informed decision on the type that’s best for you.

Getting the best leather home theater seating for your space is dependent largely on how much you are willing to pay (that’s our opinion though). When you have decided how much you are willing to spend you then consider the following:-
