Where to Eat Around the World

Our community spends their lives traveling the world and of course one of the great joys of travel is being able to sample great food. So we’re happy to present this definitive guide on to where to eat.  The World’s 50 Best Restaurants is an on-going list of the most interesting, innovative and inspiring restaurants on the planet. The list is compiled from results of more than 900 chefs and culinary experts who vote for their seven favorite restaurants in the world. San Pellegrino, Acqua Panna and Lavazza sponsored the coveted award for Best Restaurant of 2016, which went to chef Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy. “I have to thank my wife, family and my team who are watching in the restaurant. I want to thank everyone, it’s been so hard, our job is all about hard work…I think the most important ingredient for the future is culture, because culture brings knowledge and knowledge brings consciousness. I feel like I will cry,” Bottura said.

The chef is well known for altruist activities in his hometown and all over the world; in fact he took the chance to announce the opening of a soup kitchen project in Brazil in the next few months. Bottura’s eatery dethroned last year’s winner El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain, which went to second place this year.

It is interesting to note that most regions of the world are represented. Europe still dominates but Asia, the US and Latin America clearly are well represented.
